Perception Dance Company Auditions

It is recommended that you complete the Audition Sheet below and email to info@perceptiondance.com or drop it off at the studio prior to auditions. This will help with our planning and increase the likelihood of Perception Dance being able to offer you the number and types of competition dances requested.

Dancers are required to wear all black, as well as, have their hair pulled back into a clean bun all days of auditions. Jazz shoes are preferred. If the dancer does not own jazz shoes, it’s acceptable to wear ballet shoes. Please come to auditions warm and fully stretched.
​
Day one of auditions will consist of learning two routines (ages 8 and under will learn one routine) used for audition dances. On day two, dancers will go across the floor and be judged on the technique portion of the audition. On July 9th, dancers will perform their audition combos from the first day in small groups. Please note, if you wish to audition for a hip hop routine, you will learn the combination on July 7th and perform it on July 9th.

Dancers will audition in groups based on their age, as of January 1st, 2023.
If you are unable to attend auditions, please let us know BEFORE auditions.
Please arrive 15 minutes early, to get signed in and audition sheets completed.
​
There will be a $30 audition fee per dancer that will go toward the cost of teachers and judges. Please bring checks made out to Perception Dance or cash. Thank you!
